Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson hinted at making a move for the striker on Saturday, but agent Malik Barthel says any potential transfer will have to be put on hold for at least another year.
He was quoted as saying in the Guardian: “I can tell you only one thing – Robert is interested in the future coming to the Premier League. The Premier League is very interesting for Robert. How long is the future, I cannot say to you. I think this summer is not the future.”
Bayern denied the report, saying that there is “no contract with Robert Lewandowski”, while Dortmund insist their player is not for sale and that they would prefer him to run down his contract.
Barthel, though, refused to give anything away when asked if Lewandowski would sign for Bayern.
“I don’t know,” he said.
