President Jacob Zuma and other leaders of South Africa's ruling party say they visited Nelson Mandela at his Johannesburg home and found the anti-apartheid icon "in good shape and in good spirits" three weeks after his release from hospital.
It was the third time in five months that the ailing Nobel laureate had been hospitalized for a recurring lung infection.
A statement said Zuma and top-ranking African National Congress party officials met Monday with Mandela's medical team and left satisfied that he "is in good health and receiving the very best medical care."
The statement said Mandela, who was imprisoned for 27 years by South Africa's racist apartheid regime, continues to receive good wishes from admirers around the world.
Mandela will turn 95 in July.
