The veteran striker, 32, signed a one-year deal at Stamford Bridge in the summer after spending two years at Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.

Eto'o had been made the best paid player in the world by moving to Russia, however a change in direction by Anzhi saw him arrive in west London.
Having been part of the Inter Milan side that won the treble, which included the Champions League, under Mourinho, Eto'o admitted the decision to link up again with the 'Special One' was pivotal in his transfer.

"Every great player who had a career like I had would have gone to a club like Chelsea. Mourinho weighed on my decision to come around 80 per cent because I had worked with him at Inter Milan," he said.
"Jose had already allowed me to make a good choice in the summer of 2009.
"A choice that was difficult because I left Barcelona and I had to choose the right club at a time when I had to prove that what I had in Barcelona was not an accident.
"This went extremely well. We had a fantastic team and we practically won everything."

“And I hope that, thanks to God, I will also win a title in England”

Eto'o has netted eight times in 19 appearances for Chelsea, including a hat-tick over current Premier League champions Manchester United last month.

The Cameroon international also led the line in the 1-0 victory over title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night.
Eto'o, who enjoyed domestic and European success during his five-year stay with Barcelona, is determined to secure the Premier League title to add to his collection of honours.
"I had the chance to play in Spain, we won," Eto'o told Le Monde.
"I had the chance to play in Italy, we won. And I hope that, thanks to God, I will also win a title in England. And I think my career will be complete."
