Amidst allegations of copyright infringement, and claims that popular blog, Linda Ikeji Blog owned by Linda Ikeji may soon be shut down, the woman at the center of the storm has spoken out. She took to her blog to address the issue.

So something has been going on for the past couple of days that I haven’t reacted to because I wanted to see it play out and see how far these people will go. They have gone far and it’s now time to react.

The only reason this is happening to me is because I’m number one…so I am flattered. I am currently No.10 on Alexa.com, more read than all the other news sites in Nigeria, so I understand why I am the target. If I were them, I’d hate me too…lol.

Why Google shut down Linda Ikeji Blog

 
Google, on Thursday, explained that it does not tolerate the violation of its Terms of Service, which include intellectual property theft, but declined to categorically say that was why  it shut down popular Nigerian blog, Linda Ikeji’s Blog.
The company said it  does not discuss individual accounts.
The company had on Wednesday removed the blog from its Blogger platform days after an intellectual property activist reported the site for copyright infringement.
The firm said practices such as plagiarism diminish the experience of its users but said it would not discuss individual accounts.

“Google is dedicated to offering users the best possible experience across our products,” said Kola-Ogunlade,  the company’s communication and public affairs manager for Anglophone West Africa when contacted over the deletion of the popular blog.

To understand this I am going to start from the beginning but before that I want to talk about plagiarism. My understanding of plagiarism is when you take someone’s work and republish it verbatim as your own work. I don’t do that. But if I have ever done that in the past then I apologize. It was an oversight. I do get a lot of original content, way more than any other blogger in this country. Some of the biggest news stories in this country in recent times was broken by LIB. From Goldie’s death (God rest her soul) Aluu4, ABSU rape, P-Square saga, Solomon Akiyesi and plenty more. And when I take news from other sources, I always credit them. When I don’t give credit is when the news is everywhere so I write it in my own words and make it mine. I don’t believe that is a crime. I admit that I have used photos without giving credit. I apologize. That will never happen again. You learn every day. And I have learnt from this.   

Olamide blast linda ikeji For Posting Unverified Story About Him

 
So Linda Ikeji reported that Olamide is expecting a child out of wedlock and Olamide didn’t want any of that as he went to his social media page to spit fire calling out the blogger and abusing her on twitter, saying she never supported him.

Linda Ikeji reported:
“All you Naija celebrity men know you can have sex (plenty of it sef) without getting any woman pregnant, right? Olamide has reportedly joined the growing list of celebs having kids outside marriage as his long-time girlfriend, Adebukunmi Aisha Suleiman, is said to be expecting a baby.
Bukunmi is the same girl he flaunts on his instagram page (though he recently deleted most of her pics from his page) and calls her the ‘love of his life’ and ‘boo from day one’. Congrats to them.”
